Utilizing a multi-faceted approach to providing service, University of Utah Health Security seeks to deliver the utmost in safety and security for our patients, staff, and visitors. Annually, University of Utah Health Security responds annually to an average of 60,000 calls for services throughout the network. These calls include medical assists, courtesy escorts, alarm responses, and more.
In support of University of Utah Health and the zero-tolerance policy toward workplace violence, University of Utah Health Security has implemented strategies for response, case management, risk assessment, and training and education.

Since 2017, the division has grown from approximately 30 officers to 130. University of Utah Health Security currently provides services to:
